Associated Retailers Ltd is a growing retail group located in Richmond. ARL provides buying and marketing services to a range of retail markets including sports & leisure, fishing and tackle, toys, textiles, clothing and footwear.

We are now looking for a General Manager to lead our dynamic Sports & Leisure division. The role has a national profile comprising 170 stores across Australia. The key objective of this role is to develop strategic plans to maximise our market presence and retailer profitability. Therefore the role requires a strong focus on the commercial aspects of the division as well as the effective development and management of relationships with our suppliers and retailers.

Key activities for this role will include:

    * Development and execution of strategic plans for growth
    * Budget and sales forecasting, financial analysis and reporting
    * Negotiation of mutually beneficial trading terms
    * Facilitation and involvement in retail member forums
    * Proactive leadership of a diverse and dynamic team

The successful candidate will demonstrate experience in a Category Management or General Retail Management position; and possess knowledge of the retail industry, product and supply chain. Relevant degree qualifications are preferred. Ideally applicants will have skills commensurate with at least 5-7 years of relevant management experience, particularly within a franchise mode of operation.
